This was the best Halloween EVER!!!! It stated out early in the afternoon as practicing finning techniques in the pool. I got a feeble idea! We have a large pond in front of our house... about 6'X8' and 4'deep.. knarly black water when the lights and fountain are turned off or just plain evil when you put the red filter in.

I sat a large cauldren near the edge of the pond, sitting on a "spooky sound" mat. When you step on the mat toward the candy it makes errie sounds. I surrounded that by strobing pumpkins... then jumped into the pond on scuba with a devils mask on.

When I heard the mat I'd POP UP and scare the B'JESUS out of not only the kids but the parents too! hehehehehheehheeh They each had to bring friends and family to get scared too. It was the most fun I've ever had. I am ashamed to let you know how many kids and ADULTS that pee'd their pants tonight! :D

Good times! I wish I could see a pic of that???? If I tried that in Queens I would surely get shot!

It seemed to be the hit of the night in our area.... one woman couldn't stop cying.. when I started to get out of the pond to comfort her.. she ran down the street screaming even louder!

For the most part is was much better than any prank I've ever pulled.

Wow you are a legend :worship: We only managed to get two people to pee their pants with our haunted house in Canada!

We had the person dressed up as a Nun lull them into a false sense of security as she led them past various other players to the Witch's lair.

Then they were guided through the cemetery.... since it was snowing no one expected the mummy to start clawing his way up out of his shallow partially snow filled grave groaning and grabbing for the nearest ankle!

One group of teens came through.. the Mummy got the Mother by the ankle.. the girls ran to their car... locked the doors and hid under a blanket in the back seat... took ages to talk them into unlocking the door to let their mother in!

We toned it down a bit after that

The Haunted house my son did last year

THAT WAS AWESOME!!!:eyebrow:

I will have to get one of the OLD wet suits out of the shed and really make a cool costume for next year. Maybe put some dry ice around the area... I would never have guessed it would be soooooooooooo much fun! My kids are already fighting over who gets to be in the pond next year! We'll have to think up some way to get everyone involved. What a blast!

Best part was.. even though we had put out a case of full size candy bars, it looks like all but a few are still there! :rofl3:

I had all the fun and get to keep all the chocolate! What could be better???? :D

We started doing the Haunted House when my son got too old for treats and I wanted to keep him busy and out of trouble. It meant no one could accuse him or his friends of doing anything because everyone knew exactly where they were! It became quite famous in our region and we learned a few good tricks.

An old round light cover makes a good crystal ball if you put some cotton batting in it with a cyalume (light) stick in it

Spaghetti noodles make great worms... overcooked rice make good "maggots"

I always had a "greeter" and gathered people into groups.

The "Greeter" would bring people in saying
"Come my little ones" for young kids we didn't want to give nightmares.
"Come my friends" for mid range
"Come my brave ones" was the signal to really give it everything. The people in the Haunted House loved to hear that one! heheh

We found that we didn't go through that much candy either... some of the kids just didn't seem to trust us enough to let us put anything into their bags!

Wow.. I didn't even know this area existed..
It's like "AREA 51" for divers!
I feel like I've been banned for a scuba dive gone wrong!
