the lower dump comes in handy when your entering a wreck or cave in a heads down position, and you want to decend without changing trim and without using your fins( don't want to stir up to much silt)

Yeah, but you can just arch your back, either way, to counter that.

I find it almost impossible to dump from my inflator hose when underwater. I never use it except on the surface. Underwater, I use only the rear dump.

same here (Pioneer 36). It's interesting, I haven't even thought about using the hose under water since I was first told to use the rear dump and just get used to it (it's now not even a consideration -- i go right for the rear valve)

I do have to lift left *** cheek in the air to get it completely empty though.

I imagine that's bloody inconvenient when you're at depth, since the air is several fathoms above you ... :wink:
