I accidentally posted this in the wrong place originally--trying again!

I will be visiting relatives in Deerfield Beach, arriving March 28 and leaving April 4. This is not a hard core dive trip, but I am hoping to get in at least a few dives while I am there.

I have done this trip a couple of times in the past, and I have done some dives with Dixie Divers and with Parrot Island. Both were OK, but I had some minor problems associated with being a single diver in search of a buddy. I have also had trouble getting a variety of dives--with as few dives as I have done in this area, I seem to have that damn Sea Emperor memorized, and I have a hard time finding a schedule that does not include it.

If you don't mind joining an out-of-town stranger, I would certainly appreciate it.

(There is a good chance I will do at least one dive while I am there with friends of my relatives, and they are pretty much beginners--I am looking for something good for the other days.)

Try a dive op a little further south. Dixie Divers and Parrot Island run trips to the Sea Emperor all the time because it's a popular site for visiters and just a little north of the inlet the go out of making it an easy trip for them. Try American Dream II or Pro Dive. Both are further south then Dixie Divers or Parrot Island and use Port Everglades inlet. One wreck they go to all the time is Tenneco Towers, if you haven't dived this one before it's a must see. There are two sections of an old oil rig platform sitting in 100 to 115 fsw, they are open on all four sides so swim throughs are easy and the marine life is beautiful. Pro Dive always has single divers that you can buddy up with and the boat is a 60 foot custom built dive boat with a snack bar and plenty of room.

I will be in Pompano that week. I am looking to go on a trip that week. I need a buddy. I had the same problem with Parrot Island. I have only been on the one trip in Pompano. I am thinking about a night dive.

I have booked a trip--three tanks--to the Tenneco Towers through Dixie Divers on April 2. They may still have some openings. The rest of their schedule for that time does not look all that inviting. I may do a Saturday (April 1) dive with them simply so that I can easily take care of all the details the day before the April 2 trip leaves at 7:00 AM.http://www.dixiedivers.com/divecalendar/EventCalendar.aspx

I have seen some reasonable dives on the Parrot Island site for the other days, but I have not made any plans yet. http://www.parrotislandscuba.com/Schedule.html

Sunstar's website still does not have anything on their schedule after February, and they did not return my emails. http://www.thediversity.com/boat.htm Don't know what's up--they got rave reviews from the people who recommended them.

I will not be doing a night dive for social reasons--I will be involved with other activities each evening.

Let me know what you are thinking.

Forgot to mention--I will be diving nitrox on that trip.
