Hi All,

My husband wants a BP&W set up and we're trying to decide between a Deep Sea Supply and Transplate. I dive a Transpac and love it so I'm a little biased so I thought I'd put it out that for SB to help with. What do you think? Pros/Cons to each?

Thanks!!!

The Deep Sea Supply rig is better overall IMO. The wings are better designed than the dive rite single tank wings, the plate is top notch, and the overall system works great. Two big advantages right off the top are 1) the DSS way of attaching the wing to the plate; it snaps on/off for very easy cleaning and travel. 2) The wing has a very nice tank stabilizer, so it's ideal with no STA. The new dive rite travel wing might have some sort of stabilizer, but neither of my dive rite wings have one.

There's nothing wrong with dive rite stuff. If you want to go that route, forget the transplate harness and just get a dive rite plate, travel EXP wing, 2 cambands, hogarthian style harness and crotch strap, and a pair of sex bolts to attach the wing to the plate.

Do not get the venture wing, it's one of the dumbest single tanks wings ever. It's huge (unless they've recently changed it.)

One nice thing about the DSS is the one-stop-shopping experience; call Tobin, order what he recommends, and you're done. For the dive rite stuff, consider caveadventurers.com; they have excellent prices, and come to think about it, if you go that route you might as well forget the dive rite wing and get an oxycheq mach V.

Have fun shopping!

You'd be hard to beat a DSS rig. It is very well made, service is great and the price can't really be beat. You wont regret the purchase.
