strong currents have been the norm offshore key largo all week, however today, not so much! planned on French reef this am but elected to double on deep molasses reef as the visibility was superior and minimal current observed(time constraints as well). weather the past 2 weeks has been splendid, and today was no exception. bright sunshine, air 84F, SE to SOUTH winds <10KTS, seas 1-2 FT. dive #1: mooring ball M28, blue viz 60-70 FT, mdt outgoing tidal flow, water temp 77-78F @ 50-95FT. 2nd dive: moved south to buoy M27, viz improved to 70-100 FT, light incoming tidal flow, 78F @ 38-90FT. nice dives. numerous Portuguese man of war showed up today and I got wacked on the hand(tentacles wraped along the mooring line) descending just below the mooring ball. surprisingly painfull, improved after applying vinegar completing the dive. pics as usual from TIMG,,,,,
