I have a bunch of regs (Apeks and S'Pro). They all came out of the box and got put into whatever service I needed them for at the time (backgas, deco, stage). I don't differentiate between my deco regs based on what gas they will see. I pick one up, it goes on the cylinder that needs one. The odd time I need a single tank setup I'll mix and match bits and turn a deco reg into a single tank rig. If a backgas reg goes tits up then one of the spare deco regs gets fitted out for backgas.

I'm on my way to one O2 dedicated reg. I had my Atomic M1 serviced to 80% (80%?? Yeah, whatever...) and will dedicate it to 100% when it comes back (again) from ScubaToys.

My problem will be the 100% o2. My buddy skipped town with his O2 Haskel and other assorted O2 clean fill toys, and no one in my town does 100%. :( So, my reg will sit on the bottle, lonely and abandoned until I get my O2 fill station up and running.

Thank you.

Rick it's a lot cheaper to get a low pressure steel deco tank than a haskel..I use M1's as well

True. But the heavier steel tanks when used with a cold water rig - steel doubles, etc. - create an unbalanced rig. The al40's just ride so nice! :D

Besides, I've just about convinced my wife that the Haskel is a standard piece or required tech diving gear we need to save for. :eyebrow:

Swimming with LP steel deco tanks is like swimming with a haskel.
:rofl3:

Or maybe I could just put stage rigging on the T!

I have a special ceremony were I 'dedicate' each new reg. I get!!! :crafty:

PS--Actually a steel 72 used for a deco bottle 'rides' very well....and makes even a better stage bottle. I had my doubts also till I got one and rigged it and dove it,,,they balance fine with Al80's and even Al50's. Those Al40's are just for wimps... :eyebrow: :D

You say that like you actually mean it. You forgot to put the sarcasm smilie at the end. You should do it so that new people don't actually think you're serious.
