It's all gone completely pear-shaped but I like the posts this thread had engendered!

I've read a lot about the subject - but I am no expert - I find it fascinating - I know people who have unfortunately got bent - and I personally had to tank a fellow instructor back in my old job in Thailand - and a former student of mine was involved in a DCS incident during a DSD - a PFO (hole in the heart).

Sometimes... it just happens.

A related comment: Until recently I've gotten no end of grief about my statements that we don't know what causes DCS. Finally folks are getting a more useful perspective and I'm getting less flak. Much nicer.
