Tavi once bubbled...

If someone took his picture at 240 M, I guess he really wasn't solo, was he?

good point, but this pic was taken much shallower, and in this case a solo dive meansd unassisted with no supoport team, or rope to follow.

I don't have all the details of the dive, I just know some of the people involved

Once they said the same thing the use of the automobile

You cant honestly tell me that his cofinguration is correct, or the way of the future, surely thats not where you are going.

I hope i have the wrong impression here

No I am just saying don't be affraid of pushing the limits, trying new methods, or attempting the impossible.

Leigh is comming up with sollutions for the impossible, and it may not appear normal or even safe. but out of it will come new techniques, technologies, and theories. which can then be applied to every day diving like we are doing.

read my signiture line I believe that is very true.

As far as where we are going, I would think that some people will be diving the exact same set up 10 years from now, and others will evolve as people like Leigh unvail what is still hidden on the other side of the frontier

On a sled.

That makes since Rick, maybe there is a rule about equipment usage, that could be considered staged....I would think that the idea would have occured to him.

if you mean a sled like we use in freediving competitions, I believe there is something about not using a rope system. like Bennet used

Is there a newsletter or a webiste where Leigh posts his theories results and conclusions?.
Such brilliant innovations should be followed up with a report or something I would think.
Public knowledge of innovation is the key to making it mainstream.

Ill be looking out for Leighs next "revolutionary " piece of kit, Im sure it will be "leading edge" at the least.

Deep diving will never be maintream, and for those who are doing deep dive the information is there. it is however kept out of the maintream on purpose. but just like nitrox, it does eventualy make its way to the mainstream recreational diver

Don't missunderstand, I don't understand what he is thinking with this gear configuration. I am just saying don't be eager to call someone a twit and wonder if he will survive just by looking at his gear and deciding it doesn't meet with your approval you may not know the reasons for the addapted configuration.

this goes to having an open mind and addapting to the diving enviroment you are diving in. the kit it may be something that you don't understand, or doesn't conform to your agencies theories doesn't make it wrong [assume that would discribe a twit]

Aquamaniac once bubbled...
Thats the second time I have seen that twit, where did the pics come from?
Is he still alive??
End my inquisitive streak PLEASE!!

Im just re-reading my original post.
Where in the above post did I say anything about his gear, or wether or not he would survive that dive??
