Very nice thnx for posting

Hi Swankenstein. I am brand new to this forum and to scuba diving. I am Open Water Certified and had a blast doing this while vacationing in Kauai over the holidays. I live in the Bay Area where the water is super cold and wanted to ask if the divers are wearing a wet suits or dry suits in this video? I am thinking about taking a Dry Suit Diver course. I will be in San Diego next month for a conference and I plan on diving there. My real concern is if I need a wet suit or a dry suit.

Nice video!

Sorry I didn't see your post earlier. I replied to your PM, but I'll answer here too in case anyone else is interested:
I was wearing a one-piece 5mm wetsuit (rental). One guy in the video was wearing the same type of wetsuit and the other diver was wearing a drysuit. I did two 1-hour long dives and I was shivering a bit at the end of them, but overall I was surprised that I wasn't too cold. I'm used to wearing a drysuit at home (British Columbia), but the water up here is much colder (like in Northern California). In San Diego, the water temp was around the high 50's when I was there.

Everyone's mileage varies, but a 7mm wetsuit should be fine. Almost all the divers I've seen in SoCal were in wetsuits, including very petite women and older folks. Of course if you're going deep, or doing very long dives, you probably want to go with layers (7mm full suit + 5 mm vest underneath, or a 14mm farmer john combo).

Most SC divers will wear a 7mm wetsuit. I have done San Diego and was fine in 7mm suit with water temps in the low 50's

Man great condition's! Snorkeling there was what did it for me to go ahead and get certified. Haven't been back yet to dive it yet. Thanks for sharing.
