heard that and it was kinda double whammy for the dive community in singapore as another singaporean diver in perth was also injured in another diving accident and now in coma, critical condition.

I believe you have dove in sg waters before...crappy condtions that isnt helped with strong currents...was certifed there. Also had drift dive included in my graduation dive.

Have seen from other forums mentioning this. Think more could have been done to prevent incidents like this.

It is very unlikely for a student to be drowned. Any so far? Is the current that strong? Have not dived that place for ages. Last did was still bearable during my OWD course.

Vis hardly hit 5 feet but I can still manage then.

Sad story.
 
Very sad. On a different note why do articles like this always refer to "oxygen" tanks being found with recreational divers.
