:doctor: Hi. I bought a UK sunlight D4 in July. I've used it once. About 4 hours snorkeling in fresh water. The batteries died during the swim so as soon as I got home I discarded them. As far as I know that's the only time I opened the light. However I Put new Batteries in today and the light is totally dead.
Has anyone else had any problems with this light? I don't think that both bulbs could be blown.

Double check that the batteries are in at the correct position. SOmetimes things get upside down when you look at them.

Funny THing. I have a C8. And it won't work with Everyeady batteries.. something about he battery negatinve end not making good contact.

I was told by the dealer to use Duracells. I did and they work.

Maybe you want to try that?

Orlock.

:doctor: I was trying to use Philips batteries. I went in to my local dive store. They took out the Philips and stuck in Duracel and it came back to life. Maybe UK should let this be known on their Products.

Not problem, dt!
I carried my light and TWO sets of batteries for a trip to Malaysia and could not use my light!

YOu're right, UK SHOULD mention something about this!

Glad the fix worked!

I have two UK SL C4s. Neither turns on every time. I have found that hitting the end near the switch with the palm of my hand (or some Staghorn Coral) will make it come on.

I think there is a design flaw in the switch, and I would like to know if this is a common problem.

There's a plastic film on the ends of the eveready batteries that stops them from making contact. Scrape it off with a pennife, and they work fine ;)

Look at the design between the two and you will see why they don't work.

very common problem with the UK.

I just did that and now MINE is working! Great info - thanks!

There was a thread in here somewhere saying the UK light contacts were designed around Duracell battery contacts and there were problems about using other battery brands. Been using Duracells and have had no problems.
