I'm pretty sure I am going to get a DC1400 however I seem to be a little torn between these two. My take on it is the dual flash with the X2 package will result in better lighting for still photos. The X2 not having a steady light like the Maxx Duo will limit my video to shallow water. So which to get, better still photos with the X2 or more versatility with the Maxx Duo?

I guess first of all, are my initial conclusions correct? Is that the only difference?
Secondly, let's have some input here. What do you guys think?

Any thoughts are appreciated

Thanks

The Maxx Duo also comes with the fisheye lens. I have the Pro Duo and the video light seems to help the camera focus, that said I haven't tried a dual strobe setup so I'me not sure of the results. As Spitts6654 said, the gopro is superior for video. I carry both and use the sealife for stills and the gopro for video.

These were taken with the DC1400 Pro Duo
