I've read this so many times and it's still hysterical each time.

"The truth is, however, that SCUBA diving, especially at the relatively shallow depths recommended for recreational divers, is quite safe. Bad things can happen, but not nearly as many as can happen in a truly dangerous environment, such as the Palmetto Expressway. "

FINALLY, I can prove to my family that my life as a scubadiver is much safer than my Dad's since he commutes on the Palmetto Expressway daily.:rofl3:

I LOVE Dave Barry.

There was a TV Sitcom for a few years based on his column written by Dave Barry starring Harry Anderson from Night Court.

The column is dated 1998, but funny as all get out! That's the first time I read it.... thanks for posting.

I do enjoy Dave Barry!

thanks for the laugh
