Hello, I'm doing my advanced scuba in Kauai in a couple of weeks and I'm using he wheel for one of the skills. It came with a data carrier to write dive profiles. I googled this question but found no answers. What do you use to write with on these boards. Pencil? It seems to smear when I erase pencil markings.
Thanks

I'm not specifically familiar with the data carrier you are referencing, but most surfaces designed to be written on underwater are meant to be written on with a pencil. I'm guessing the data carrier is similar to the Nav Finder card PADI packages with its Adventures in Diving crewpack. If so, you can't use an eraser on it. If you do, it will smear like you said. To erase or clean it, scrub it with a little toothpaste or slate cleaner after the dive. I wouldn't waste the money on the slate cleaner, though. Toothpaste works just as good and is much cheaper.

Have fun on your trip!
