Thanks for the reply.

On the BC. Do you attach it to one of the rings or on the ring at the end of the shoulder straps? I have one of the DAN ID tags on the way and will attach that to the BC as well.

On the Reg. Do you attach it to the hose? To the yoke?

Any other gear?

I will probably attach them after servicing as I a going to drop the reg and BC off at the LDS for the annual servicing.

Mie is attached to the upper portion yoke itself and it does not get in the way of the operation of the regulator.

I attached my big DAN tag to my BC's lower left D-ring, where it's out of my way.

I used my gear tags on my reg (ziptied to the yoke, out of the way), as zipper pulls on my two piece wetsuit, on my computer, on my dive light and on my camera strobe.

At first, I used the provided zipties. However, the tag on my wetsuit jacket floated off on my first dive with it. So, except for the one on my reg (where I don't want the metal yoke scratched), I replaced all the zipties with 1/2 inch stainless split rings.

I was thinking of getting gear tags. What information did you guys put on the tag?

The gear tag has "property of" NAME and then Phone Number.

Do you mean the DAN Tag?

The front has my name, DAN # and DAN Hotline #
The back that is hidden has date of birth, Dr. Name, Dr's phone number, emergency contact, emergency contact's cell number and home number, and Health Insurance Carrier. I did not include SSN, blood type. I work in the financial industry (banking) and we have lots of privacy training. I did not think the SSN was necessary. Also, it ws not a required field. The blood type is also an optional field. I called my doctor to ask and was told they do not typically have it as it is not necessary to know it now as it was years ago.

DAN has two tags. DAN tags, which have your ID info and DAN's contact info, and DAN gear tags, which have the DAN logo on one side, and your name and phone number on the other.

DAN tags are big, but the gear tags are small.

Check out the DAN website for more info.

Wear one around your neck, hang a whistle on the same lanyard.

If you don't want to bother with the plastic thing, any army-navy store will print up dog tags with whatever you want- real cheap.

I have a DAN Tag on my BC with my personal info, and I think these are a wonderful idea. 351 dives and I've seen 6 divers leave in ambulances - some unconscious. It happens.

For gear, I write my name on everything with paint, probly need to engrave it on some, and the dog tags are a good idea. I think you can get those cheaply at Wal-mart, etc. I like DAN but 6 tags for $25 does not appeal to me, but dog tags look like they'd cost $3 each?
