I'll be at Dale Hollow Lake and interested in diving between July 18th and the 22nd. Anyone interested?

I might be, what areas are you diving? Sulpher Creek, Pine Island, etc. etc. I don't know what my schedule will be like in July but would like to get down there.

I don't know the lake well enough to have spots picked out, but am quite flexible. I am there for a family reunion and we are staying at Eagle Cove Resort. We will have a pontoon boat rented, I believe, and we can use that as a dive platform. I was there 2 years ago and jbd, another ScubaBoard diver, and I got together for a couple of dives that way.

I'll take a look and see what I can find with regards to dive site proximity to Eagle Cove and see if I can name some likely dive sites.

Not far from Pine Island there is a smaller island no bigger than a driveway. In fact at times it's submerged. Regardless, it's rock and had marine life a 20 yrs. back. Has a tunnel you can go through from one side to the other. I've always wanted to go back there and do that again. It's been 22 yrs. since I dove that site. I think it's only maybe a 20 minute boat ride from either Hendricks Creek or Sulpher Creek. There is also some great diving near the dam or it used to be great anyway.

One thing is for sure, Dale Hollow is hands down the best lake to dive around here.

I live about 45 minutes from Dale Hollow and dive there all the time. Willow Grove dive shop is great and can handle all your needs. I have found that the best diving is from Willow Grove to the dam. Divers Island is a really good dive and has a lot of fish. The Groves dive shop number is 931-823-4794. The shop is at the marina and you can pull right up to the door with your boat. I dont know my schedule that far out but if I am free I would be up for a dive. The rabbit sheriff on Dale Hollow is a stickler so have your ducks in a row. oh and by the way I dont work for the dive shop just had good results with the crew there. mid July the water should be warm and vis should be ok depending on location.

I'll keep kicking this to the top of the list until I, hopefully, find someone to dive with. I've got a pontoon boat to dive off of and beer to drink when we're done diving. Any takers?

I am Very interested But I have never been to that neck of the woods diving. It would be a bit of a drive for me so I would either have to do it on Monday or Friday, Probally Friday, I also have a Family so I need to make some arangments and make a weekend out of it. I have seen good reports on the Vis, but what is the temp in that lake for July? In other words how thick of a wetsuit do I need? Does anyone have any recomendations for a Camp Ground in the area? I see that there is a State Park near by.

A bit of a drive! From southwest Indiana it seems that it would be more than a bit of drive. I have only done two dives in this lake, two years ago, when I was there for a family reunion. I wore a 5/7 mil wetsuit and sweated my *** off until I got in. Water temps at the surface were in the 80s, but at depth it was more like 50s. I recall vis of 5 to 8 feet, with heavy particulate. Doesn't sound great, but I did enjoy the diving.

As for making a weekend of it, I will be at a family reunion and fitting in a few dives, so I can't plan a multi-day diving weekend. My thinking is that I'll be able to squeeze in two two tank dives during the week at whatever points in time. OK, maybe three two tank dives...
