Hey, Decaf521

In the early 60's I converted from the two hose reg to one of the first one hose regs. All my diving buddies thought I was nuts. I actually got it because my dad was selling dive equipment at the time. In November my wife bought a viper nitrox and octopus rig. She did not like it at all. Breathed wet for her. And the side exhaust drove her crazy. She bought a Scuba Pro MX16. It is GREAT. I identified the probl;em with the dacor as being the low pressure hose. It was a little too long and a bit stiff. As suc it put right side pressure on the mouthpiece causing it to leak at the mouuth, especially when the mouth got tired and thus wetness increased with depth. I now use the equipment and the only thing is that with a side exhaust reg, you will notice some bubbling. This is the nature of the animal. I was surprised when Dacor came out with side exhaust regs because this was the very first design to come out in the single hose regulators. So if you want a suggestion from and older diver, go get yourself a Scuba Pro, be happy and don't look back. Enjoy diving withthe Scuba Pr. Cudabait:guitar:

i have tried the viper metals my friends dad had...i loved them a lot and my dad said i could get them, and we were planning on it until my lds said that there would be no more dacor name after jan 1... i asked him if the vipers would be changed to the mares vipers and he said that the viper might be gone all together. i have decided on getting a Aqua lung legend lx w/ an aqua lung abs octo along with the dacor supreme compact pcd analoge guages.

thank u for every one for their input.

When I got my first reg, it was between a 60' soda straw and a Glad bag I would put over my head (I found the tall kitchen style works best, the DIR guys would always point out that the leaf bags had too much drag).
