hey pm,
im a service tech, and work at a dive center in NJ.
dacor no longer is making kits for the older dacor regs.
you might be able to trade in your old dacor 960 for one of the newer dacor regs, or one of the mares regs.
best of luck.

Mares did give a discount on a new Mares reg for original owners of the older Dacor models they discontinued parts support for. However, if I remember correctly it amounted to about 30 or 40 percent of retail - it was by no means a straight across trade and I am not sure the offer is still on the table.

Mares basically bought Dacor for their patents and proceeded to margninalize both Dacor and Dacor customers. Following their acquisition of Dacor, Mares has discontinued support for all the Dacor numbered regs as well as for the Enduro, Quantum, Fury and other older named regs. If you have anything prior to an Eagle, you probably need to worry about owning a paperweight.

Sell it, I sold my old Dacor Pacer on e-bay and got $50 for it. That's about what I paid for it over 20 years ago. I used the proceeds to buy a Mk5-Balanced adj., threw in some new parts and I have a sweet reg that will last many years.

I just BOUGHT it on eBay about a week ago, didn't do my research. Dacor 960 primary, dacor xlp pacer secondary and an old AMF swimaster for the octypus. It also came with a nice console including deapth guage and pressure guage, I paid $100 for all of it. Though I was getting a hell of a deal!! First thing I have ever bid on on eBay.

If the reg you have works, use it. The older Dacor regs were bullet proof and would go years before you would need to replace the o-ring in them. If you can replace the o-ring in your sink faucet you can do it in your reg, match up the o-rings, use food grade silicone grease on them for lube. Look on e-bay for service manuals if you think you need one, or search scubaboard for one.
Good luck with it,

In Oakland CA, there is a dive shop that stocks parts and services older Dacor regs. Price is reasonable too.
