I had posted previously about "basic settings for D90". At that point we were getting the Ike housing. Turns out we struck a deal for the Aquatica.
Same lenses (10.5 Nikor f/e and 60 Macro). Still firing older Sea & Sea strobe with a "y" cable.
So, are you guys shooting auto WB? Do you preset with white cards? Or do you just shoot RAW and fix it with photoshop? What do suggest?
Thanks,
Erik

You won't go wrong with the aquatica. A far superior housing. I shoot on raw but i keep my camera on flash setting which is 5800 kelvin. I find even on land auto white balance is to blue. The whites have a blueish tinge so i shoot on flash setting.

I shoot in RAW and adjust WB afterwards while processing the images on my computer. Do some try's to find out what comes more handy for you as sitting hours in front of the computer to edit the photos is not for everyone and a well done white balance will reduce this time a bit.

Congratulations on your new setup. I have racked up 3 dives so far on my Aquatica and I just love the smooth feel of the whole setup.

I shoot in Fine Jpg and RAW at the same time and use Auto WB. Natural light shots at a constant depth I would use manual WB.

Shooting in RAW as others have stated can be corrected in PS.

I have also been playing with custom WB settings for the D90 Video. But it can be fiddly trying to play with if conditions are constantly changing.

Hi Weeksd,

I would like to have a look at your shots taken with 5800k. Do you have a link to your gallery??

Regards Mark
