D4i Disappointing Battery Life

I still think that one year and 40 dives is not acceptable battery life.
Perhaps, but what are you going to do about it? Either accept it as a side effect of a tiny computer, learn to do it yourself, or buy a Perdix that's simple to swap AA batteries in.
 
Let me add some additional background to my dissatisfaction. The guide I dove with on my last trip, who kindly lent me a spare computer, was very surprised that I only got a year out of the battery. Both he and his wife, also a guide, use D4i computers. Since they are in the business, they do many more dives per year than I do. Both of them get two years out of a battery.

(FWIW - They don't change their own batteries, but send to the Suunto service center.)

I asked other D4i owners on the boat and I found no one who got as little as a year.
