Does anyone know of a wetsuit company that will custom make suits? I am 4 ft. 11in. and need to have a suit made. I have been wearing a shorty but on my last trip to Maui I really injured my leg on the coral! I have a permanent reminder of my trip.

LiquidFit, Atlan, and a whole bunch of others can be found searcing this form, it's a great way to go.

I have been looking at aquaflite.com
A buddy has one he likes.
If you have 2 made, you only pay the custom charge on one.
I need a 3 mil for travel, & a 7 mil for here.

I own an Atlan (Manta I think) and I've been very happy with it. Based on the homework I did, it was the best value. Actually, it was the same or less than off the rack.

Come to think of it, I believe Bare will do a custom suit. You could check out Divetank.com. From wht I've read, they are top notch and they advertise a "Pro Fit" guarantee on their web site.

Hi, have you checked scubal.com. They make TrippleL wetsuits. I have one and really like it (not a custom fit but off the rack) not the best suit you can buy and not the cheapest just good for the money. Nice colors too.

What I like about Atlan is that they have dealers. You get someone accustomed to getting the measurements right and you have a local face if you have problems. Atlan positions themselves as custom specialists thought they also do a lot of work for the rack.

Bare does do "made to measure", I never hear anything about that service on the wetsuit side. Henderson will also do factory alterations or full customs. If you have a local Henderson shop skilled in fitting these that's a good option.

The ultimate is to work on-site with the tailor. Some will do a measurement session then a fitting session before final stitching.

I love all of the custom wetsuits I have gotten from www.liquidfit.com. I chose to go with the superstretch material which was a great choice. The suit gives me great flexibility and keeps me wonderfully warm. They have a wonderful arrya of colors to chose from. The owner, Carolyn, spent a great deal of time with me on the phone. She was sonderful to help me with the measurements and color selections.
Good luck.

Can you give me a ballpark idea of how much their wetsuits cost and what thickness you got for that? (plus any extras you paid for?)

I'm thinking that this might be a good option as I have a heck of a time with rental wetsuits - too big in some places and too small in others. If a custom is too expensive, I will just have to try on as many off the rack suits as I can find, until I hit the "right" one.

My 3mm full suit was about $300. I added the extended leg and wrist zippers which brought it to about $350 with shipping. I was not charged extra for all of the many colors that I added. There is one option that I haven't been able to take advantage of. If you lose any weight and your suit no longer fits you, your first alteration is done for free. If I could just lose the weight, I'll certainly take advantage of that offer.
