Here’s the stainless steel version of the 5/8” E-Clip installed in the Mares Quattro fin strap buckle.
It’s a lot easier to install E-clip than ring. All I need to do is pullout the bungee loop out of the buckle long enough for one of the E-clip ends to slide into the loop, as shown below,
Then, pull the loop into the buckle through the fitting until the E-clip fits inside the buckle.
It’s much difficult to install a ring as the ring has to slip into one of the bungee cord ends and that bungee cord end has to be inserted back into the fitting that is already occupied by the bungee cord.
Inserting a loop of bungee cord through the fitting is much easier than inserting a cord one at a time. The loop end stretches and forms into a pointy end that can be squeezed into the fitting. The double cords provide rigidity. You can push and twist the cords easily into the fitting.
