Custom RK3's

Just picked up some white RK3's. Figured before they got dirty and scuffed I'd make them mine. Anyone else customize their gear?

I think it will stay. The rubber these fins are made of seems to have absorbed the Sharpie ink.
Just printed some pics I have and cut them out as stencils. Used Sharpie to stemple/dot around the stencil. Or filled in the outline on the eagle rays and sharks on foot pockets.
We'll see how they hold up.

Sharpie will fade some, won't stay crisp.

I've been really tempted as well! I have some paint markers I picked up that should last longer underwater (at least based on some references elsewhere on ScubaBoard) so I might put on some test lines (maybe on the "side" of the fins) before next weekend's dives to see how they hold up.

I'll do this to my Jet Fins for now, but the RK3s would follow if things seem promising.

An update: after a week of diving, there's been some bleed on the fairly simple geometric shapes I made with paint markers. @gassed how's the sharpie faring for you?

So far still sharp and defined black dots.
