Have you tried a standard plate? or just assuming it wouldn't work?

I'm 6' 2" and a standard works well for me. Hard to imagine that a couple of extra inches in height would affect you that much.

To answer your question honestly...no, I have not tried a standard plate. You may have a point...but I also wanted input regarding a custom back plate before I go about spending money. I really wonder what the sizing standards are for backplates or is it a simple question of the market that manufacturers are accustomed to...one size standard fits most divers etc.

I'm 6'4" with 32" legs (long torso). I presently use a standard plate and find that it's *ok*. I'm quite tempted by a longer plate which would let me snug up my arms a little more and still keep that waist band around my waist. I expect I somewhat of a poster child for the long plate ad :)

In summary, yes it works with a standard plate, but I've always thought a longer one would be better.
