The thread below, http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/scubapro/439663-regulator-parts-life-question.html has left me confused. I just had my regulators in for yearly service and did not hear about any changes in the program.

What are the conditions of the program for regulators that are currently actively enrolled? Is this still yearly service or is it now 100 dives or 2 years as described in the cited thread?

Thanks in advance for addressing my question.

KATESCUBAPRO's sticky form last January http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/scubapro/407051-scubapro-parts-life-policy-explained.html clearly states the conditions of the PFL program at that time. If the program has changed, an update would be much appreciated.

Dear Scubadada,

Our apologies on not updating the post sooner- all SCUBAPRO dealers are well aware of this policy change. As you know, those of us who work the board have a lot of additional responsibilities especially during this part of the year. We do our best to keep everything up -to-date, but unfortunately this one got missed somehow. The sticky is now officially updated: the service interval is now 24 months or 100 dives. Thank you for catching our "oops", and thank you for choosing SCUBAPRO.

Happy Diving Always!

Kate,

Thanks very much for the prompt response. This helps me out with my 4 1st stages and 8 2nd stages currently under the PFL program. The only one not covered is my MK5/109 from 1972.

Good diving,

Craig

Dear Kate,

PFL seems quite clear to me but can you please tell me if I need to service my regs, BC, fins not to loose my warranty and how long the warranty is? I am from Europe / Czech republic and I just bought mk25/S600 + AIR2 + X-Force + Galileo Luna w/ transmitter + Seawing Nova + some other Scubapro stuff (mask, snorkel, wet suit, boots, knife, torch).

Many thanks for reply!

insomnia,
Your warranty is always valid; you should have your reg serviced every 24 mos or 100 dives to maintain that.... However, the Parts for Life Program for regulators is only valid on those regulators sold through the USA distribution.

Is there any particular reason for not having PFL in Europe?!

No specific reason, just that it was started in the USA many, many years ago and not adopted by the other worldwide locations as we expanded.

SCUBAPRO Harry,

Sorry to bring this back up, but I would like some clarification on the change to the PFL program. I did contact my LDS, and they have not gotten back to me.

I purchased my MK25/S600/R395 in Jan 2011. I had them serviced in Jan 2012 to keep the PFL valid.

Does the new 24 month interval count retroactively? Or do I need to have them serviced this month and then my next service would be in Jan 2015?

I'm hoping I can wait an extra year because I didn't get to go diving very much this year and it seems a bit wasteful having them serviced. Hopefully I can dive more this year!

Thanks!
Alex

Alex, hopefully Harry will verify since I don't work for Scubapro, however my LDS owner told me it went into effect immediately. I was in the same boat. One regulator I did get 100 dives on, so it is being serviced now. However my other one I use on my pony bottle sometimes had very few dives. I was told I could wait the additional year. That the new rules counted on regulators serviced last year.

See the sticky posted by KATESCUBAPRO, appears explicit, "All SCUBAPRO regulator owners currently on the PFL Program will continue to receive parts for life as long as they have their gear serviced WITHIN 24 MONTHS or 100 Dives."
