My son and I will be diving off Little Cayman starting next Sunday. Any word on current temp and vis? We've dived off Grand Cayman many times, this is our 1st trip to Little Cayman.

Thanks in advance, good diving, Craig

I was on LC June 12 - 19 and the water temps were 86 - 88 on most dives. Where are you staying?

Hi carriemak,

Wow, that seems awfully warm, another visitor at the same time thinks it was 82-84, more consistent with my many trips to Grand Cayman. Regardless, the water is warm, yay!

We'll be at LCBR

Good diving, Craig

Craig - those that had Oceanic computers had pretty much the high temp readings. I do know the water is much warmer than usual. Not a bad thing for divers, only bad for hurricanes.

Just returned from a great week on Little Cayman at LCBR with Reef Divers. 18 great dives including 2 night dives and trip to Cayman Brac to dive the MV Capt Keith Tibbetts. Vis was generally 80-100 feet, water temp 82-3 degrees.

This was my favorite scuba trip to date and I've had some very good ones. I'm actively scheming on a way to get back to Little Cayman sooner than later.

Well fancy meeting you here Craig. It was great diving with you and your son! I agree, best trip yet.

My favorite dive was night dive number 2, complete with thousands of little pink squid to play with. I enjoyed the squid play much better the first time when it was just my buddy and I, in low light. The second time they came around, and got everyone's attention, everyone had their WAY too bright lights on them and the effect was much diminished.

And I'm scheming right along with you.

Hey lulu,

Small world. The second night dive was the best night dive of the approximately 30 I've done. It was nonstop action from beginning to end. Jeff and I saw huge lobster, an octopus, turtles, half a dozen hermit crabs performing shell exchange, a reef shark and the huge school of squid you mention.

Little Cayman is the closest to the perfect dive destination I've found.

So when are we going to plan a SB trip there?

I'm feeling sometime in winter. I can hang with 75 degree bottom temps in February.
