Hi, anyone book a curacao now package yet?? I am trying to find out if I have to buy airfare. I am using airline miles so I don't need it. The website only links you to madura dive (a travel agency)and to book through them, you have to buy airfare. I want to stay at allwest. Any input would be sooooo helpful. thanks,

This is what they did last year - you have to buy airfare using one of their "approved" travel partners to book the entire trip (to be sure you actually "buy" it).

There are several travel partners - not just Maduro - but there does not seem to be any price difference between them.

You have your airline miles, All West is very reasonably priced, through AW you can get boat package, shore package, and or a car or truck rental. It's far easier and in your case much less expensive to book All West by your self.

Hi Greta,

Yor question is easy to answer: The official Curacao Now incentive is a program including accommodation, rental cars, diving (if needed), and airfare, bookings can be made through designated tour operators. However, at All West in the past we have always followed the pricing structure of the Curacao Now program also for direct bookings, including apartment, rental car, and diving. This means that you can arrange for your flights seperately, and still get a very good deal with All West for everything else. Just email to louis@allwestcuracao.com, and he certainly will make you an offer that fits your needs.

Greetings from cold Germany
Andreas

Thanks everyone, I did end up booking through Bea at allwest. As mentioned the pricing was more than fair. Same as the curacao now package but used miles for airfare.Allwest seems perfect for us. Really looking forward to it. Pretty snowy here in tahoe. Also had to switch my plan to include more boat dives than intended, I fractured my tibial plateau and tore a muscle skiing 2 wks ago. Hope to be healed enough to do at least relatively easy shore entries, any recommendations for easy to moderate shore entries would be greatly appreciated. Bad timing on my part for an injury. thanks

Ocean Encounters West site At Playa Kaliki (Alice in Wonderland) is easy entry and close to where you are staying. You walk down the dock to a small side platform and can either go down a ladder or do a giant stride from the deep side. You can carry your gear down there piecemeal and suit up just befoe you enter the water. Best part is this is one of, if not the, best shore dive on the island. You swm out about 100 ft and you are at the drop off. Go left or right anywhere from 25-100 ft deep and you will see all sorts of stuff. Great for night dives also.

Hi Greta-inbaja,

Shore dives with an injuries should not be a problem. Most of the shore entries you can put up your gear in the water. I think that's just a service you provide to make diving stay unforgettable.

On the west side of the Island there are enough easy shore entries, but if you have a chance also visit the East side. It's the diversity of the different reefs that makes diving interesting.

If you want more information on dive-spots don't hesitate to ask.

Happy dive planning.

Greta:

Due to your injury, perhaps you should ask for one of the ground-floor apartments at All West to minimize stair climbing.

Also, the diving behind All-West utilizes a long set of steep stairs to get down to the shore, but you can also take a 1- minute drive down to the the fishing pier and the entry there is easy. Just ask and anyone can show you where it is.

Plenty of easy entries to be found on the island, but one thing to watch for, depending on the state of your recovery, is that you might want to look for "beach" entries such as those at places like Cas Abou and Porto mari where the entry is over more sand than coral rubble. It might be easier to maintain a footing if you are having stability issues, which you might be with that kind of injury.

Thanks for the input. This was to be a dive.dive, dive vacation. We head to the carib inn on bonaire for 10days after curacao. Gotta make the flight from the west coast usa worth while. I hope to be released to start physio in the next week or so. I like the dive fitness and medicine area on this board also. Thanks for the info form beach dives on curacao, I got the beach diving made easy book for bonaire.
