Hey, I have 3.5 - 4 hours in Curacao before my flight to Bonaire. What's there to do??

I have a Why Zass suggestion. I don't know who I would offend more those who police, I mean read Trip Advisor or Scuba Board so I won't post it. Just know that I laughed at the suggestion.

R, the problem would be transportation. It would take you a half hour to get almost anywhere; downtown, Porto Marie Beach, even the Marriott and then a half hour back. Assuming you'll be out of the terminal a half hour after you arrive IF you are lucky, you MIGHT have 2 hours. If you want to chance it, I'd say Willemstad. There is an excellent Slave Museum at the Hotel Kura Hulanda, a new casino at the Renaissance Hotel and sitting by the floating bridge with a drink would be a better place to people watch than the airport. Or you can walk from the airport a half mile to the Hato Caves, tours are on the hour, and walk back to stretch a bit. If you want to go to a beach, I'd say Porto Marie, they have a restaurant and an outdoor shower so you won't be sticky on your next flight. Make sure to ask the taxi driver to come back for you. There are none at the beach. Next time, plan to stay longer.

Going to have to manage your carry-on? I'd go to one of the resorts in Piscadera Bay and ask them to hold it. The Marriott or the Hilton.

Both have outdoor bars/restaurants - the Marriott's is just off the beach -and small Casinos. Plus getting a cab there would be easy on your return.

With no bags, you could probably go look around downtown, it's about 30mins. from the airport give or take.

Sea Aquarium is too far so probably not worth it in that time interval.

Buy a box of Cinnabon rolls at the Curacao airport, right before you depart for Bonaire. You'll drive folks on Bonaire nuts seeing those.;) I've done this twice.:D

When they're gone, just hit The Last Bite Bakery on Bonaire, until you come back through Curacao for your return leg.:cool2:

If the 3.5 - 4 hours is touch down to take off I am not sure I would leave the airport. Once you land in Curacao you will need to go through Customs and Immigration. If you are changing to one of the local carriers you will need to get your luggage and then check in there. Then, prior to your flight to Bonaire you will need to once again go through security. If you do stay at the airport there is a nice place where you can sit outside and have a bite to eat and something to drink. I always sit there and soak up my first sunshine on the way to Bonaire and my last on the way home.

I agree with the "there's not enough time to leave the airport" group.

I would taxi to Piscadera Bay to Floris Suites and have lunch and swim in the pool. Call ahead to see if they approve this. There is a "first class lounge" of sorts inside the airport. There is free wifi. The Kura Hulanda Museum is EXCELLENT but your time is not enough, IMHO.
