My husband and are are heading to Cuba in mid September for a 3 weeks.
We love diving and want to do a week of dives on a nice beach, but aren't sure about how good the dives are.
I've researched online and couldn't find an answer- How are the corals? Any big fish?

We dived before in the Philippines so are a bit spoilt.
We're willing to fly to Cancun and dive in that area, if that means much better dives.
Also- We have PADI lisence, heard it's a problem?

Any input will be extremely helpful, thanks!

I know 2 areas of Cuba that I've dove, Veradero and Cayo Largo. Veradero isn't recommended. However, Cayo Largo is, it's as good as any Caribbean diving I've done, lots of great barracudas and large fish and healthy corals. Very good indeed. No problem with PADI certs.

Thanks, that's great info!
Any recommendations on where to stay there?

Cayo Largo is a small island and only a few resorts on it, so they will all deal with the local dive store. I'll try to find the name of the resort we stayed with. It was a very good resort, clean, nice pools good restaurants.

Resort was

"Sol Cayo Largo"
