The rebels......cool group, but they are the ones that meet in Arlington that I am talking about. I'd join them, but I'm not driving through that mess.

Gainesville, lol...that was for Guba. I'm trying to bring those Wichita Falls boys down here.

Irving....so you would be up for Grapevine, Colleyville, maybe even Southlake?

Sure. Grapevine, Colleyville, Southlake, Coppell, Irving (lol) all would work for me. My wife and brother also dive with me so it would be me +2.

How many does this give us so far?

We've got 7-8 people talking about it right now, so I hope we can get 10 in the first meeting. That wouldn't be a bad start.

Jxh2297 and I made it out to CSSP for a couple of good, fun dives Saturday (2/25).

We were surprised by the number of dive shops out for classes. I believe there were 4-5 sign in sheets. I saw Scubatoys, We-B-Diving, and Frisco Scuba. I didn't venture around the lake to see who else was there. Even on the standard sign in sheet there were about 8 names when I got there at 10am.

That said, as always, the visibility around the training platforms diminished, but we had about 15' in the other areas and maybe closer to 20' around the "deep" silos.

No issues to report like my last trip to Clear springs, and the adventure I had before the first dive of the day...lol.

Water temp: 54-56 degrees. Yeap, it's already coming back up folks. :)

I'll post the general info in the conditions thread.

I saw your dive report for this past weekend.

Where did you find 50' of depth? The rains must've really helped things.
Water temp of 54 doesn't sound too cold (kinda). I may be about ready to do some CSSP diving.

Dropped from the blue buoy to the deep silos, or whatever you wish to call them. :)

We surface swam to the buoy and dropped straight down. I hit 47' when I touched the metal and 50' as I swam off toward the wall. I might could have gotten a little more depth, but I was trying to avoid mucking the place up.

It sounds promising for some wetsuit diving. I think I can bundle up and brave the cold water down to @ 55.
I think I'll try to get out to CSSP in the next few weekends.

Do you usually go every Saturday?

I try to go out every Saturday as long as I have someone to dive with. I may skip a few weeks here in there if I get tired of the monotonous drive...lol. And I may switch it up between Lake Murray and CSSP. Even though the drive time is the same for me (CSSP or Murray), Murray is a much easier drive. I goofed up last Saturday and left CSSP around 3:30. I hit traffic at the 30 merge in Dallas, and then thought I was going to be smart and avoid the 30 and I-35 merge in Fort Worth, so I took 820. Uh, in all my years of driving around here I should have known better. It took me 2 1/2 hrs to get home on a 1 1/2 hr drive! I can do 114 to 30, but it ends up being about the same drive.

Anyway, there's an answer in my long-winded fashion! :)

Ugh on the traffic. I'm gonna talk with mama and see if what the plans are for the next couple Saturdays.

Her dry suit didn't end up fitting her comfortably so she took it back to Scubatoys. I was a bit nervous because it was past their 30 day return period but they didn't bat an eye. I know that they hated to see that dry suit coming back in the door. She got a 7 mil full suit that she used at Valhalla last month. It kept her warm even in the 54 degree water.

I'm in on giving it a shot. Maybe I'll bring the wife and brother if they are in on some cool water diving.

I'll let you know how it looks.

Cool, just let me know and I'll try to meetup with one or all of ya'll. It's possible that Tejasmtb might be out there with us as well. I believe he just picked up his dry suit today at ST.

(Sorry to hear the news on her dry suit, it was a heck of a deal).

As to the temp... it wouldn't surprise me to see 56-58 in the next couple of weeks. I might have to strip off my 250g Polartec and just dive my Cabela's ECWCS, or vice versa. I'll just be happy to see the temp get to where I can pull of the dang 5mm gloves. I fumble around with everything with them on. :)
