I am wanting to add a crotch strap for use with doubles. Where does it go. The only thing that I see is a very small slot at the bottom there. Great if someone could explain in detail how I put a crotch strap on here. Maybe a link to product too? I'm diving the D1 Hybrid drysuit.

what they said. Dive Rite 1" crotch strap is about your only option. I've never actually seen a plate without a 2" slot though, that's interesting. Who's it made by?

If you want a 2" strap, then you have to drill into the bottom of the plate a hole the same size as the holes for the bolts. Then attach this

This link should help you out. Don't skip right to the crotch strap portion, you need to fix the harness. It is backwards, or inside out, on the bottom. Dive Gear Express sells crotch straps. You could cut a 2" slot below the existing 1" slot if you have the tools, or friends with tools, and use a 2" strap.

My old OMS plates only had a 1" crotch strap cut.

Heh. Why didn't I see that?

Related question: Does it matter if the tail end of the crotch strap is on the inside or outside? I.e. whether you thread the crotch strap through the BP from the diver side or the tank side?

Oh, and other question: In the pic the OP posted, the shoulder straps are setup to cross behind the diver. When would you expect to need to do that? For a diver with a narrow torso?

A: do you want a tail or a .........???????????????????? Never mind.....

B: some with a smaller build benefit from this (Jax or Lynn seems to be in my memory)...

YMMV
