I have a Zeagle SS plate with the deluxe harness that I dive with a single tank and a dry suit and would like to try crossing the straps behind my head to keep the straps closer in on my shoulders. Can this be done and how is the webbing strung through the slots? If it the way the webbing is normaly threaded it would appear to cause a lot of wear on the webbing though the top slot or am I over thinking this.

i can't speak for deluxe if it has a chest strap, for instance, but in regular webbing you just take the strap that comes out of the top left and thread it across to the right hip & vice versa. it takes up quite a bit of webbing, so if you trimmed, you may need a new one. i had mine that way for years & really liked it when i dove wet. with a drysuit, there's more to catch the horrible rubbing my upper arms used to get & i don't feel it anymore.

I have the webbing crossed on all my plates, and have noticed no unusual wear.
