There are a couple of dive sites I like that require transporting personal gear a fair distance on foot. I am trying for find or build a small rolling device that I can carry all my dive gear including at least one aluminum 80 and weights plus room for a small cooler or other personal gear (change of clothes, ect). I am thinking something basically similar to a light weight handtruck but would prefer it to have larger wheels for off-pavement travel and something that could fold or flatten to minimize storage in a trunk, etc.

On a trip to Catalina I saw several creative devices for getting gear from the ferry to the dive site but it has been a while so I can’t remember details. Some of what I saw did fold which was nice.

Does anybody here use a similar device or can point me in the right direction?

Thanks,

mg

I've seen these being used in Naturagart, Germany.

Thanks for the ideas and links. I need the carrier to be pretty small in size. I think I will likely go with a folding luggage carrier and modify the wheels with some pnuematic style tires for offroad travel.
