What does being an evolved creature have to do with free will?

Rick Murchison:
Easy... follow His command, which says to love (both filios and agape) your father, mother, son and daughter.
By loving Jesus "more" you will have the capacity to love your children even when thay are hateful.
The concept really is simple; the execution isn't always easy.
Rick

exactly right

how does one love God? by loving people

(i'm glad you left eros out of the equation .... you know.... kinky....)

Rick Murchison:
God created time. "Before" and "after" only exist in the context of time, part of the creation.
Rick :) †

yes... but you will have to admit that God couldn't exist before God existed?

Whatever happened to Tiktaalik roseae and the Archaeoraptor?

as far as i can tell, T. roseae became extinct. the discovery is recent, and it was published in early 2006. i am not sure if you are hinting that it is a hoax.

Archaeoraptor was discovered to be a hoax within TWO YEARS of its alleged discovery. pretty fast work for science.

not sure what your point is ... animals become exinct, it happens. a lot more of them have become extinct lately, thanks to Homo sapiens

hopefully, we won't kill ourselves off as a species, but i am not holding my breath

there have been a few hoaxes in the history of science. the fact that they are uncovered and the stories corrected is a testament to the integrity of science as a whole.

If we (humans) are really only animals in pants, do we really exercise free will?

ask yourself, have you killed anybody lately? you certainly have the opportunity every day, running into hundreds of people. yet you have chosen not to kill anybody.

sounds like free will to me

(for the record, not all humans wear pants. some wear shorts, skirts, kilts, or thongs)

There is no "before" without time...
Impossible for the human brain to get around the concept... along with infinite, and eternal...
Spiritual things are spiritually discerned.
All those things end up being matters of faith, and by faith, fact for me. If I turn out to be wrong, I'll never know. If I turn out to be right - and I am satisfied I am on this particular point - then the adventure is just beginning, and that's exciting!
Rick

i do agree that it is a matter of faith

Wait a sec... I've got it...

God is the ultimate Schrodinger's Cat!

If you look back to a time before time then God existed and didn't exist at the same time so by trying to look back at a time before time and God before God there isn't an answer as to when time began and God's existence began since both occured in the "box".

Just an idea....
