I have four Shearwater dive computers. Predator, Petrel, Perdix AI and Nerd2 which I have downloaded the dives from to Shearwater Cloud version 2.12.1.

Crazy stuff such as dives from 1970 and depths of 100 feet at Peacock I.

Anyone else?

A lot of my dives are now also dated 01/01/1970, after one of the latest updates. I haven't checked whether the depths/profiles are correct for those dives.
I have not contacted Shearwater as they seemed to be aware of the problem(Ref the Beta-thread SB).

They must have teamed with SONOS for software development.

Love my Shearwaters, but completely unimpressed with the logging software. I've basically gone to Subsurface for that (and it too can be problematic, mostly download/connectivity)

Le sigh....

Isn’t Subsurface works for all computers and one of the best out there? It’s strange that I only see negative feedbacks about Subsurface here in scubaboard compared to Reddit

No, it does not work for all computers.
It is a good free product, but I don't trust the developer or the longevity.

Connectivity issues aside, I do like it very much....

I have issues with my Shearwater and Deep6 connecting through Windows bt...

Subsurface has been great for me, and never had a problem with computers that needed download cables. However, for my Peregrine I download by Bluetooth to Subsurface on my phone, then bring it up on my pc from the Subsurface cloud. Even then it can be glitchy. Not sure if it’s a Subsurface thing or a Shearwater thing.

From my understanding, it is a lack of standardization of Bluetooth protocols in the industry... Someone like Subsurface can't predict how each computer will be "designed". Throw in a third entity like Microsoft or Apple and their standards, and it gets even more convoluted. Kind of like each company provides their own software for their own computer, and other brands won't work with it...it isn't Subsurface's fault, and some dive computer manufacturers have provided information to Subsurface to make them compatible while otherwise have not... Some may be so obscure there isn't a reasonable way to make them work together...

I think I have that right....maybe not...

Sounds good enough for me. If you don’t have it right, I’ll never know :).

The original Shearwater software was really good. Really surprised that they still convince themselves that this cloud based stuff is better. Sure, the function count might be up. But functions I don't care about and make it clunky and suck to use. Really would like the original app back again.
