Hello All,

Just back from Cozumel.
Water temp is 79 degrees, Vis approx 100ft.

We stayed at Hotel Casa del Mar. The room was good but the food
absolutely sucked. Glad we didnt do the all inclusive package. Talked
to some folks from Oregon that did do the all inclusive, they weren't
very happy. Their package included 2 boat dives per day, but the hotel
dive operator Del Mar Aquatics was canceling their trips so they could
use the boat for cruise ship diving charters. Buyer beware.

We did our diving with our friend, Raul Platas, owner and operator of
Bottomtime Divers. The boat was clean, the snacks were good (and
plentiful) and he was always early. Bottomtime took us to wherever we
wanted to dive and was eager to show us what we wanted to see. His boat
only holds 8 divers, but he can get a larger boat if the need arises. I
*HIGHLY* recommend him. he can be found on the internet at
www.bottomtimedivers.net
You cant go wrong with Raul. He's an awesome Divemaster. He'll hold
your hand if that's what you want or he'll let you dive at your own
pace, respecting your divecomputer info of course. I cant say enough
good things about him and his operation. *ALL* of our dives were over
an hour. No Problemo.

The main street thru San Miguel is closed and under construction.
Careful if you stay at any of the Hotels on the main street,
jackhammers we running everytime we went into town for food, even at
night. As usual, taxi rates vary depending on if the cruise ships are
loading or unloading. Since my divebuddy speaks spanish, we had zero problems
with that.

We tried a new restaurant (new to us) at the corner of Ave 10 and Calle
Sur 5th called Espacias. The food was outstanding, and the cerveza's
muy fria. A good place to try if you're willing to get a little bit
off the beaten path.

That's all for now folks.

Welcome to SB duhawki,
Nice trip report too!

Welcome to the board!
