Glad you had fun and yes, Cozumel drift diving is another beast what with all the current and people to deal with. Always enjoy your photos and insight.
I was in Cozumel during hurricane Wilma. Waves were crashing inside Scuba Club Cozumel and on to the upstairs balconies close to the street. The hotel I was in down the road was gutted front to back. I remember swimming through a neighborhood to find the one working pay phone to call home after that three day nightmare ended. Wilma just sat on Cozumel at category 5 for about three days. We honestly thought the apocalypse was happening. LOL I grew up in Florida and had experienced hurricanes before but not one like that. Sorry, despite several trips to Coz, I can't seem to get this one out of my head for some strange reason. Hee hee. Good to hear things are finally growing back in the shallows. Some of my fondest memories are shore diving for two hours at a time in those shallow areas at night.
Have you ever been to Bonaire? It's pretty much heaven for us SoCal shore divers. Get a truck and head out when and where you want to. No people, no DM, no current usually, and all the time in the world to shoot pics!
