We booked our dive excursion through Carnival cruise line. This gave us some level of comfort that the ship might wait if we were late, since the excursion was booked through them.
We had two dives with Sand Dollar Sports. We were on a pontoon bout with about 8 other divers. This was a comfortable sized group. We saw another dive boat that had about 30+ divers. We were glad we did not end up on one of those excursions. Our dive master was Ernesto. He did a good job with the pre-dive briefing and also made sure we were positioned in a good location by doing a quick pre-dive at each site. We had to make an adjustment at one location based on Ernesto's opinion of the current from his pre-dive. There was a mild chop on the water, the water temp displayed 84.6 on my dive computer at both sites, and visibility was 100+ feet at both locations.
Our first dive was Santa Rosa wall and the current made it a steady drift dive of about 35 minutes to 80'. You were able to just drift and watch things go by at this site.

The second dive was at San Clemente to 45' for about 40 minutes. There was more aquatic life at this site. A good variety of fish and plants. There was also more diver trafic at this site. Not enough to be intrusive, but noticeable. Ernesto was able to locate a seahorse for us to photograph.

I also bought a DVD put together by Kim from Sea Star Cozumel. IMHO it turned out great!! I broke it up into 3 parts for youtube. Check it out;
