Air temps are in the mid to high 70's

what would you recomend for a wet suit in april as far as water temps also a I am sure I dont want to transport my weight via airlines

Been to Coz in April the last two years. Air temps in the high 80s to low 90s. Water temp in the 80s.

Most people are very comfortable in a shortie. Some in a 3 mm. Didn't see anyone in more than that. Some dove naked, but a few of them seemed cold.

I went in April one year and just wore a 3 mil shortie and FROZE during the dive and after while on the boat. It was cloudy, windy and rainy when I went (keep in mind it was April--it's spring so you never know what the weather will do) so that didn't give much opportunity to warm up between dives. I'm also a woman and we tend to get colder than guys anyway.

SO I would say the answer to your question is it depends....on how many days you'll be diving and how many dives a day and your individual tolerance to cold. You'll get the gamut of answers, as you're finding out, because everyone is different--some people are fine diving naked (did they REALLY dive naked or just sans neoprene? LOL) and some, like me, have to wear 2 wetsuits just to keep warm even in 80 degree water.

Well, he said that they "seemed cold"; how do you think he could tell? ;^)
