He said he gets out at the public beach by the ferry pier. That would be the Transcaribe cargo ferry. And the beach is called Playa Caletitas and is frequented by local kids

Thanks. I'll scope that out. I really like Coz shore diving.

I have done shore dives putting in just north of Coral Princess at Nah Ha and we have drifted up to Cozumel Club Caribe. We follow the shore for a bit and then head out into about 40 feet of water max. We usually have seen a decent amount of lionfish, eel, and schools of fish along with some nice soft corals. Even with the current moving strongly it usually takes us about an hour to do this and make sure you have a float.

I have also done a few from Hotel Cozumel to the light house and back both during the day and at night. It is a decent dive but the north area we found more interesting.

Hi BRT--I exit my dive at the caletita (public beach) before the ferry pier; then walk back to Blue Angel :)

Shore diving is about all I do in Cozumel now. After a friend showed me the ropes of shore diving at Dive Paradise, I was hooked.

Wow. I like the shore diving there OK, I guess, but I'd never give up boat diving there for it. DSFDF.

Does Dive Paradise or Blue Angel advise specific sites. I've been boat diving Cozumel at least once a year for more than a decade but have never done any shore diving. Need to remedy that in late December.

In my opinion the store diving is fun but does not compare the the normal boat dive sites. Yes there is little cool things to see and its shallow and you can dive for close to 2 hours but it is only a supplement in my eyes.

Both ops have an area out front for a fairly good shore dive and they prefer that you not take their tanks elsewhere. I've not done Dive Paradise's shore dive but I have done the one at Blue Angel many times. Compared to what I can find anywhere near home it is fantastic, but compared to the Cozumel boat dives, not so much. IMO, Cozumel shore diving is a nice addition to the boat dives but nowhere near a replacement.

Thanks, that's what I expected. Well probably diVe AM on boats and do an afternoon and night dive from the shore.
