I dove a section of the Cozumel reef and can't remember the name. It was near the drop off that went virtually straight down. I thought it was called Columbia wall or Palancar wall, but it had some pinnacles that went very high up. At about 120 feet there was lots of sand that was flowing down and would go over the drop off.

If anyone can help me find the actual name it would be appreciated. I’m trying to find some pictures of that spot so I can show my wife. I’m headed back in June and am trying to talk my wife into the dive.

Many thanks

It sounds mostly that you are talking about Cloumbia Deep. That is my favprite dive on the island. It has a lot of diversity, swim throughs, flowing sand, drop into the deep blue, plenty of sea life, and if done right the rise to the top is done in stages and the multi level profile really works well.

Enjoy this reef and please stay safe

I have dove Columbia Pinnacles many times. I can not remember which is further south, Deep or Pinnacles. Will tell you when I get back in about a month.....lol

Wondering if you could take some pictures or know where I might find some of that area?

Dave, you should be able to find a picture showing all dive sites of Cozumel if you do a google search. I do not think that everyone calls Pinnalces Pinnalces. I have heard it called several other things but off the top of my head I do not remember what they were. It seems many DO have different names for varrying sites. When you arrive, there is a new Cozumel dive site log book out with descriptions of reefs. Done recently. Think it was $20 at Coccos. We eat there for breakfast several times each trip. Many places sell it. Some proceeds go to Park I believe which is why I bought one.
