I agree with all of the Dive with Martin recomendations. I dove with them for my last 9 day Cozumel trip. Even though they are only $51.00 for two morning dives, you get picked up starting as far north as Cozumel Palace (Plaza Las Glorias) at 7:30am, and work your way south to the best sites on small fast boats. With 4 or 5 small fast boats, they can put you with equally skilled divers if you ask. You'll get a free boat night dive, a free video of one of your dives, free unlimited shore dives in front of their shop next to La Cieba hotel, and some decent dive guides. You go to a beach for your surface interval, and there is no extra charge to go as far south as Maracaibo or Punta Sur dive sites. They also only charge $9.00 for Nitrox. If you pay $70.00 for the two dives in their Cozumel King divers package, you get 95 cubic foot steel tanks and can go to far away sites and do more advanced dives.

Enjoy,
Matt

You should try divingg with Dressel Divers, I read some bad threads about it, personnally I do not share that opinion, I go to Mexico every year, and have always dived with them.
Their high professionalism and security standards keeps me always very impressed.
Kind instructors, willing to help you always, and if you stay at any Iberostar, you hafve them right there.
Also if you pay your dives before arriving you get a 15% discount.

you can contact them ar sales1@dresseldivers.com

Good luck

Plaza Las Glorias is closed for renovation, (at least it was 4 weeks ago) so everybody has been loading at the piers and Del Mar Aquatic's dock.

I would give a chance to dressel divers, I dived with them several times, and have no comments agains them, quite profesional, and very well trained instructors.
FYI, they offer private dives, and private boats if you are many divers.

Welcome to Scubaboard! As you can see you asked a loaded question. I'll put in my two cents and recommend Aldora. Steel 120's, six-pack boats, no limits on time, etc. Average bottom times are well over an hour. Great experience for a little bit more per tank.

Ditto on Welcome as well as Aldora

the top three recommended dive ops I would give are "dive with martin", I use them, good dm's and captains, some of the lowest rates on the island, cash only, 6-pack boats and will pick up at Iberostar. also offer afternoon dives and with a 4 or 5 dive package gives a free one-tank night dive. www.divewithmartin.com

the other guy i have dove with a lot is Raul Platas at "bottom time divers", he's a wonderful guy and a really good safety minded dive master with a great nack for finding sea life. I dove with him for years when he worked for blue bubble divers before going out on his own. www.bottomtimedivers.net

the third operation although i have never dove with her personally, is Christi at "Blue XT Sea" her operation is quite respected both on this board and on the island.

if you want to get away from the all-inclusive food and get some local fare downtown see the post on this board titled "cozumel restaurants" any of these are a good choice.

other than that we welcome you to the board and wish you a great trip to Cozumel.
post a trip report when you get back and let us know what you think.

best wishes,
the shark

They are great and safe. Dressel Divers, for me is the best option.

Like lake travis diver says-don't miss palancar and columbia shallows -it was great and no safety stop needed!
IMO a safety stop is always recommended even if not "required", unless your whole dive is at 15-20 ft.
