When diving with Scuba Tony, most of our lunches are at beach clubs during the surface interval. Here are a couple from Paradise Beach Club. Poor hubby was getting a little nervous with the parrot who wanted some of his fries.

We ate the coconut lionfish at La Perlita. Delicious. But what deep fried, battered white fish isn't? It would be interesting to try it grilled more plainly to experience the flakiness and taste that the Lion King and others are touting so extensively.

Well I would say as a taste test, my wife got the deep fried cod sticks and they SUCKED compared to the lionfish. (Perhaps they would have been fine if I had not been eating the lionfish.)

We also had the shiskabobs and the plain lionfish filet grilled, neither deep fried. Both were TREMENDOUS. Previous to going to La Perlita, my only lionfish was from the Capitans at Caleta from a ceviche done in the cut off bottom of a plastic drink bottle. Wasn't bad per se, but I just don't think I am a ceviche guy......

YUM!!! Love ceviche made by capitans and DMs. Some of the best I've had. And lionfish ceviche is tasteeee.
So you keep on choosing something else, chief, and I'll take care of your share of the ceviche!

Well if you eat it all in ceviche, what is going to left for me at La Perlita?

How about: you pay for the boat, and I'll bring up the lionfish?
Sadly, as we know, there are plenty of lionfish to go around. :shakehead:

Sounds like a deal, but other than a night dive with Eduardo on the Ballena, I haven't seen the ones worthy of a dip in the light coconuty goodness.... You can ceviche the little ones.....

I've brought up many that were pan or grill ready. Just have to know where to look - outside the parque. Less traffic = leones grandes!
