yahoo! just finally got the flight booked. ended up changing it by one day to save $100/ticket.

this is my first trip to Cozumel and my entire dive trip is based on te recomendataion of people here at SB.

we are going from September 1st-5th. staying at Carribe Blue and diving with Blue Angles Dive shop.

I have printed out Cristi's restraunt list and plan on checking out as many of the local restraunts as I can in 5 days. also going to see the museam since eveyone says it's so worth it. the Dry day we are thinking about renting a car and going to the east side and checking out some of the ruins.

Anything else I should know? hotel transfers? best night dives? Best beach? etc....

Thanks again for all the advice, a post trip (hopefully with lots of pics) will follow when I get back!:eyebrow:

Looks like you have it pretty well sussed. To get to the hotel, just veer to the right as you come out of customs and look for a ticket booth. Tell the girl at the window "Caribe Blu" and pay the 8 bucks p/p transfer fee, get your tix, and mosey out to the walkway out front. Find a guy who is coordinating the loading as tell him "Caribe Blu", and he'll put you and your gear on a shuttle. It's pretty simple.

Oh, and don't say anything but "no, gracias" to the timeshare guys; they are the ones who will accost you right after you get out of customs. They will usually open with "where are you staying?" Anybody Mexican who asks you this in the airport is 99% sure to be selling timeshares.

The best beaches are on the south end and the east side. Blue Angel usually does their night diving on Paradise Reef.

I'll be in Cozumel Aug 12-19, I remember seeing Christi's restaurant list somewhere on the internet but I can't seem to find it now. Could you please tell me where I can find it. Thanks, Coqui Diver.

grumble grumble grumble, I book the tickets THEN my boss comes and tells me I really need to be back on the 5th, so I call the air line and have them change it. not only are they $100 more expensive per ticket but now I had to pay and extra $30 change per ticket. so tyring to save money by going on Friday instead of Thrusday ended up costing me $260 extra dollars.

but who cares I am still going!

thanks for the tips on the time shares people, I seem to have a vague memory of them while in cancun.

I can't wait, I need to get me a camera before I go, this $18 film camera I have had for the last 7 yrs just isn't going to do cozumel justice!
