Diving Cozumel week of June 8, 2025
Here are some diving photos from Cozumel the week of June 8, 2025.
Weather was hot, currents were mild but did switch around for short periods of time, and less divers on the reefs.
We dove from the Palancars to the end of San Francisco wall this time. We dove Casa Blanca (I don’t think the house is white anymore) and is south of Cedral Wall. Faster current but lots of turtles and nurse sharks.
Water temps were warm. Vis was down – lots of shrimp and other floating debris. Lot of backscatter. Partly cloudy which affected photo exposures.
Lots of blue chromis, creole wrasse, grunts and schoolmasters. A few free swimming green moray eels, mid-size hawksbill turtles, and a couple of green turtles.
All photos were taken with a WA lens and dome port. I am using close focus WA for some shots but it is no substitute for macro as evidenced by the nudibranch and small fish.
Cottonwicks
Juvenile creole wrasse
Adult drum
French grunts
Gray angelfish
