My first experience and I am here a lot in December/January. Our DM has 15,000+ dives on the island and wasn't sure of the name of the jelly fish. I am going to look online and see if I can find it. They did not have tentacles or sting. Visibility was around 35-45 feet the last 2 days. Water temps are ranging 78-80 depending on the day and location over the last 10 days. I switched to my 5mm wetsuit a few days ago and am quite comfortable. Thanks for the on-island report! We will be there Sat.
That cold/dark upwelling... I've never heard of that before. Is it common? I'd think it might bring with it some interesting creatures (hopefully, other than jellies).
Thanks Chiily!Another great trip report, Trailboss.
My camera light crapped out on me 3 days ago. As you might recall, I had a similar issue in the Philippines half way through that trip. I am getting a bot frustrated. Sea Life is a great company and their customer service has been stellar and I have never paid for repairs or replacements, but this is getting old when I have thousands invested in a trip and my camera light fails. Going to have a long conversation with them when I get back home.No photos of the jellies?
This is what the jellies looked like:- They might be called Salps?
