mcmpw "Want to dive with the elite and best dive opp in cozumel, check out Aldora Divers. Steel 120's, furnished dive computers in you don't have one. A little more expensive (very little), but when you break your dive down to a per minute basis, probably half the price of about all others.

You will limit your bottom time, not your dm.

by the way, which should go without saying, these are small six-pack boats with the best and most attentive divemasters on the island."

completely agree with mcmpw

Papa Hogs is a good dive operation. The owners are Mike and Margaret. Mike is a gruff guy with a bit of an attitude that can be a bit overwhelming and you may not like it. Margaret is a sweetheart. The thing about Mike is, he's a great guy, he really cares about the quality of his dive operation and he will fire his employees when they screw up. Especially if they do something that may endanger his clients. I felt totally safe in his staff's capable hands. His DM's are mostly excellent, his boats ALWAYS leave on time, they take you where you want to go, and will tell you daily where the good sites are. The Hog Town cafe is also great for a good bite to eat. It's all about the nachos!!!! For his best DM go with Enrique, if he's still around.

DocVikingo once bubbled...
Actually, Blue Angel doesn't really own the Reina just yet, but they're gaining on it.

Have fun.

It's a done deal. Quoting an email I received in response to an inquiry on the subject from Reservations@LorenaHotel.com on June 6:

Hola Gordon,

Yes the Hotel Lorena has been sold and Alejandra and another person are the new owners. Other than maintenance, general clean-up and new linens, the hotel will not change. How could we change the beautiful sunset view!

Please come and see for yourself.

Arlene briefly tried to change the name to La Reina after her partner Lorraine (after whom the hotel was named) left the operation, but she ran into domain name difficulties. This according to Arlene's dad, who was staying there the same time as me in early to mid May. She also was trying to get the original owners, Javier and Emma Segura, to buy it back (Javier's health is much improved) about the time I left, but apparently they couldn't make a deal.

Alejandra (also the owner of Blue Angel), it appears, is sticking with the Lorena name.
