Any Idea if they let you transit through to Little Cayman for the 5 days, or do you have to complete the 5 days on GC?

I would imagine that you would need to stay put on GC until they are satisfied that you are virus free to avoid the possibility of contaminating a second island - just my somewhat educated guess, though.

Good grief! I’m going in October 2021. I certainly hope that things have improved by then.

Anything is possible, but I would not count on it. This soft opening is only starting on Sept 1 and Cayman has been VERY conservative in their approach to date - so I don’t see them taking risks by relaxing things too quickly.

I’m booked for next April and I feel reasonably good about that happening - but would not bet on it either!

Agreed - I’d bet more than 1 will be available by then. The question will be how effective they are - but so far, the data looks promising good on a number of them that are in development.

Several vaccine candidates have done well in phase 2 trials and will be starting phase 3 trials through between now and September!

You may travel between Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman without being tested for the COVID-19 virus provided that:

• you have been in the Islands for at least 14 days prior to the date of travel, and
• you are not showing any respiratory symptoms or symptoms of COVID-19.

So it looks like this is really not an opening for vacationers and dive trips. The quarantine requirement and monitoring device are a nonstarter in terms of a one week dive trip. Hope they get things sorted by next summer so we can go back.

They are installing another boat mooring at Little Cayman Beach Resort so they must anticipate reopening and the need for another boat, good for them!

I was kind of thinking this fell more under the category of "doing whatever work around the resort we can think of for staff" instead of running dives.
