But still 5 days quarantine. So seems effectively closed for those coming down to dive for a week or less. On the positive side it is movement towards opening and lots will likely change between now and then.

Interesting that this has been determined already. How about letting the testing continue before making the comments. Works just fine for swimming etc
I’d bet they don’t have monitoring devices that could survive scuba diving pressures! However, as it’s meant to monitor where you are, I’d bet you would be allowed leave it on the boat or ashore while diving - if not, then that’s pretty lame!

5 day quarantine is a nonstarter for many - but at least it’s progress. I’m hoping that’s dropped by next April! We’ll see!

they don't say how long after you are discharged you have to wear the device. And i don't think they said you couldn't dive with it, so......
Which is still not viable for the average person’s wallet - but it’s progress, at least...

Reading further, this looks it won’t make much sense for many:

- you have to apply and get a decision on whether you can enter or not - not clear on the criteria they’ll use to approve or deny an application? How far in advance can you do that and how long does it take to get a decision? Hard to plan a trip without knowing that?

- It appears the “self isolation” is at a monitored location - so not your hotel/condo? I wonder what that costs as they don’t talk to that? Doesn’t sound too appealing vs self quarantining/working from a condo with beach views...

For those that this that works for - good luck and enjoy! I’m staying put until next year!

However, as it’s meant to monitor where you are,

I read it to be a health monitoring device - probably worn on the wrist. Is it for you to check certain body measurements (heart rate, temp - I don't know what all they can measure) or would it be remotely monitored by someone else? Seems to be a pretty expensive measure.

I still believe that scheduling a trip will be to much of a hassle - for me - with no guarantees you would even be chosen to go: a positive or false positive COVID-19 test result 72 hours before departing would wipe out a trip one has planned ahead, and prepaid, for. Hopefully testing becomes better and faster.

"TravelTime will consider where a person is traveling from when determining whether to grant permission to travel to Cayman."

Another kink is TravelTime - if the U.S. is still high in COVID case numbers, will they determine U.S. citizens are a no to visit the island?

Of course all of the items in the first phase are subject to change. My decision is still the same as it was months ago - not to travel until a vaccine/cure is available. So getting my hopes up and planning ahead is not in my nature right now.......OK, yes it is but I'm fighting it!!!

Some of my family that lives in US is currently quarantined in Europe for 14 days. Lots of countries that have Covid under control have quarantine. Not a big deal. As far as the monitor, I wouldn’t mind something that could early warning of being sick.

I think the device is a location tracker rather than a health status checker, based on the comment about geofencing. It’s essentially a limited house arrest device, I bet.

There goes our week long visit to GC in October. I’m pretty sure I can get an e-credit for my Delta flight. I hope I can get a refund on my pre-paid condo.
