You should have ordered it based on the length from shoulder to waist. I'm definitely not close to a 31" waist (LOL) and I tried a small on at my LDS. Great fit and felt just like Ii was wearing my bp/w. I have my wieght pockets far back on my harness so their placement on the covert felt right to me. My only complain was that there was padding on the back and I'm used to diving without any. 
Still haven't dropped the $$ to get one since I do have my plate and wing....just wanted something else travel with but am now thinking about waiting until DEMA to see what the next batch of trave bc's are.
Good luck in your quest. You might want to consider the zeagle scout if the zena doesn't work for you.
